Welcome To Bucket List Farms

Honey Bees

We became interested in bees around 2015. We started attending seminars and learning about bees.  We got our first hive in 2018 and have not regretted it. They are fascinating little creatures. We did not realize just how smart they are, not to mention how vitally important they are to our food supply. We have been careful to maintain a very calm queen breed to be able to approach our hives without fear of attack. Most times we can reach into the hive without wearing gloves. Most people don't realize that bees won't randomly sting you, because they know once they sting, they die. Bees usually only sting when they feel threatened or to protect their hive. The honeybee is not aggressive like a yellow jacket, hornet, or wasp.

We are starting to increase our bee population. We hope to be in the position very soon to sell NUC's (a starting bee hive) or full hives.   We are building our number of hives and are finding out just how much fun raising bees can be. The honey from the hive (in it raw form) is so much better for your health and better in taste than what you get at the stores. Many times the honey from the stores can be processed or cut with other non-honey products.

We are also involved in hive rescue when there are cases of bees setting up home in folks houses, patios, or places bees should not call home. Do you have bees living at your place that are causing a problem? Contact us.  We might be able to get them out of your way and save the bees by removing and relocating them. Remember, without bees, we don't eat. The best way to increase the yields in your garden or your flowers is to set up a hive in your yard. They are amazing pollinators and will fly up to 5 miles in search of food.
Also, there are tax advantages  for land owners to raise bees on their land or to have another beekeeper maintain hives on their land. The regulations vary by county. In most  cases it's between 5 and 25 acres of land.
As our bee  population grows, you will see more information on our bees and bee recovery, and what we may have for sale.
